i DO love this State Patk! I go there every year. Walk the Minna Anthony Trail every year. Only big problem I see is the rotting, decaying, falling apart handrails around the pot holes out on the trail! There is going to be a lawsuit someday because the handrails are going to give way!!! They REALLY NEED TO BE REBUILT!
The trails were really fun. There was about a foot of fresh snow so the snowshoes were definitely needed. I had my own but they do rent. I think there is about ten miles of trails with nice views of the river everywhere. I will definitely go back just to hike or snowshoe. The campground is really nice as well.
I had an awesome time visiting Wellesley Island State Park. The park is absolutely beautiful and offers some of the best hiking I’ve done in the Thousand Islands area. The trails are well marked, peaceful, and give you a perfect mix of forest scenery and incredible views of the St. Lawrence River. Every hike felt relaxing and immersive, with plenty of spots to stop and take in the scenery. The waterfront views are stunning, especially with boats passing through the islands, and the park itself is clean and well maintained.
