This is a very nice little campground. The showers could use a little help.But all, in all, it's a great spot
A nice small park. In the summer they have concessions available with kayak rental. The shower house is in need of renovation but works. Many trails, but some bridges are in need of repair. But overall a nice place to stay.
Lovely area and trails but I have not been able to use the public restrooms when I visited there in March, April, October and November. Don't know when or if they are opened. Never noticed a sign when to expect them to open: just always locked when I am there for the last 3 years.
This used to be one of my favorite parks to go hiking and do landscape photography at. It had vast woods area, prairie fields, and Old barn buildings along the hiking trails. Not only did they tear down the old farm buildings, but they also cut away the prairie fields and woods areas. Now it all just looks flat. Not the same feeling hiking on the Old Farm Trail anymore without all the nature and history. At one point I would have given this place 5 stars.
