Cool site! (There looked like there was actually two spots that I found). I didn't sleep very well though because there was a fox in the area barking/screaming. And then that alerted some dogs in the area too to start barking.
Almost 1/2 mile from the bike path. When I arrive at about 3, the mosquitoes were eating me up. Went out to dinner and by 6, the mosquitoes were not bad. This is a beautiful primitive camp site. The river is right there and your tenting below pines, so it's soft ground and no ticks in the immediate area.
I live about 3 miles from this hidden gem of a river camp spot I bike to frequently. For the last year or so I've been caretaking and delivering firewood with my atv to the 2 campsites and keeping the 1/2 mile trail mowed and cleaning up any trail obstructions. I hung some stainless steel cable at each site for tent/cloths drying line and brought a bike stand to each site. If your biking in or thru the area this is a must stop rest spot! I recommend the second camp spot, it is a sweet campsite.
