This place has an excellent 'regular' campground with about 40 sites. Most have water and electric hook up for campers. There's a decent playground in the campground. The lake is large. There are many miles of trails with a wide variety of scenery and difficulty. Keep in mind this rec area is intended for shared use with equestrians. I did not go to the equestrian campground so I can't speak about that. West Union is pretty close. The Mississippi is about an hour away.
