The Retreat at Hickory Hills

Our first visit was extraordinary. We rented a cabin and hung out with my father-in-law who is a annual member. Our first experience was more than we expected and we plan on parking our RV there all year round as well starting in the spring. The golf cart trails are amazing. They are great pools.

DON’T COME! The staff are some of the most rude and unfriendly people we have ever worked with at a campground (or honestly, in general). The owner is incredibly aggressive and threatened my family for coming to the campground to look around to see if we’d want to bring our camper for the season. The owner was “out at lunch” at 3:00pm, so we decided to drive around and check out the park only to be flagged down and harassed extensively by the owner for being there. She even threatened physical violence. DO NOT BOOK!

Yes I paid for our grand children to stay for the 4th of July holiday.but they became sick and refused to refund me? I've never recommend you guys because of the attitude in the upper management. The way they handle it. They would said they would follow-up after the 4th of July holiday. Because they were too busy to talk to us. But they never bothered to return any call, super Texas or emails period but they were happy to keep my $180.

We paid in advance for visitors and they were not able to make it and they would not refund us. It’s very difficult to speak with anyone everything was done on the Internet and it was very slow at replying back sometimes up to three days. I would not recommend this place. The parking and driving was all gravel. Just was everywhere on your camper in your vehicle..

The good: pretty setting, nice pool, newer bathrooms, most of the staff is super friendly. The not good: Water smell is unbearable and the person who manages your check-ins (must also be the person that responds to all negative reviews) is super unpleasant. If you are not one of the long term renters, you are an inconvenience. There are insanely strict rules - just beware and make sure to read the entire book of rules before booking.
