The Outpost - New River Gorge Campground

Beautiful, peaceful and well kept campground. Bathrooms are very clean and tent platform was very convenient for our camping needs. Definitely recommend!!

The shower houses were some of the nicest I’ve ever used in a public campground. Cool community spaces and very kind staff. Not a ton of room between spots, but didn’t bother me at all. Really close to the park and great location! Will definitely be back.

I cannot recommend The Outpost highly enough!! My friend and I stayed for 5 days in one of the rustic cabins and had the best time. The grounds were well maintained, the bathroom was the nicest campground bathroom I have ever seen, the common areas were clean and everyone was so welcoming! We were lucky enough to be staying during one of the special event weekends and loved going to the concert on Saturday night! We’ve had two stays at Outpost @NRG, and we’ve very much enjoyed both times. One unique feature they offer is the ability to ‘car camp’ in their parking areas. We brought our camper along, for our first stay, in 2024, but utilized the car camping option with our truck bed tent for our second stay. The owners & staff are always super friendly & helpful, their bathhouse is always super unique design, and always kept extremely clean. I definitely recommend them for a stay.

The outpost was so fun!!!! We tent camped and got to enjoy some awesome music. The owner, Ross, was so kind and attentive to us when we met him and answered all of our questions! Can’t wait to come back.
