The Goat Shed is 88 sq ft of pure cozy! Like camping but within four walls, the Goat Shed has everything you need for a peaceful rural experience. Furnished with a full-size bed, an outdoor sink, basic kitchen amenities, and a shower and a camping potty, the space is perfect for the solo or duo traveler. Located about 4 miles east of I-5, it's a peaceful and safe "pit stop" for those traveling the I-5 corridor. Listen to the coyotes yip at night while you cook dinner on a propane camp stove, then wake up to coffee and a gaggle of turkeys. We are 🌈 friendly and welcome all people. The Goat Shed has no electricity and all lighting is provided by LED rechargeable and/or solar lighting. The northern Sacramento Valley often reaches temperatures over 100* in summer, and can receive light snow in the winter, so be sure to check area temps before booking. Located just outside of Redding, we are centrally located and have easy access to all Shasta County has to offer. Explore Lassen National Park (1 hour drive east along beautiful country roads), Whiskeytown National Recreation Area (20 min drive west), Old Shasta State Historic Park (15 min drive west), and of course, beautiful Mt. Shasta. Don't forget our numerous breweries, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, the Sacramento River, and the Sundial Bridge. Redding is also home to many hiking and biking trails. Ask your host for recommendations.

A cozy little getaway. We stopped here on our way through the states and it was the perfect combo of camping and luxury.

I had the loveliest time in the goat shed. The space is small but well kitted out with the basics, like battery powered lights, a propane stove, water, dishes, towels and extra blankets. But when I arrived, I also found some extra treats, like nice lotion, oracle cards and hot water left out so that I could make tea when I arrived on a cold night. Johanna couldn't have been nicer. I will 100% come back the next time I'm passing through.
This was a sweet and special place to visit on our holiday road trip. We were greeted by the host and were loving all the lovely features offered. Clean and super taken care of.
Johanna was such an amazing host! Very communicative and helpful, but also hands off unless you need something. Which, I didn't once I was there. The goat shed had everything I could possibly need and more! I had forgot the cable to charge my headlamp, but a a charging cable was provided and worked great with the power bank. The hot water was a great touch. I slept great! Will make sure to re-book if I need somewhere to stay in the area again!
Wished we could have stayed longer. This was a cozy spot with a fantastic host. Would recommend & come again!
