Tecopa Hot Springs Resort

Quaint and dated but the water cannot be denied. The private pools are cathartic and the ?community? Pool is exquisite. Worth a day pass or a night's stay at the minimum.

I choose this campsite because it wasn't too far away from Death Valley, it had hot springs and it was inexpensive. When we got there I will admit I was worried because the mineral soil made it look so barren, but by the end of the stay I saw the beauty of the place and just loved it. We went during the off season so we had our pick of tent sites. We choose the one with a huge tree, which gave us privacy, shade, a great view and lots of branches to hang our solar lights. The bathrooms were very well maintained and not too far, the shower was super nice and warm, plus the hot spring was to die…

The website feels a little misleading for what you actually get. Bathing house is locked via code, and I had to get that code from another guest as there was no staff really available. Also, they keep chlorine floats in the tubs, which is not appealing for hot springs. That pretty much negates any benefits the natural springs provide. I'll give them credit for cleanliness, but there are far better conditions at the facilities up the road.
