Pillows were hard as a rock. Staff claimed rooms were unavailable to book for my parents, but when I called, they magically had rooms available. Extremely inflexible about providing us with an early check-in time, stating that they could call us day of, which was insane because that happened to be my wedding day and we did not have time for that. Rooms were also over-priced for the quality and friendliness of the booking staff.
Great location at the top of the scenic Needles Highway and on a spectacular granite-crusted lake. Cabins are relatively plain from the outside, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant was good. Hiking, watersports and scenic drives abound nearby.
Incredible location in walking distance or <10 minute drive of the best hikes in the area. The front desk was helpful in answering our questions, and our cabin was updated, clean and comfortable. The Needles cabin had two full bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a kitchen, living area, porch, and fire pit. The lodge offers free firewood and coffee. We were also steps away from the beautiful Sylvan Lake and short walking path around it, as well as the updated general store with convenient food and supplies. The best place to stay to experience the Black Hills!
We stayed it Granite cabin. It had the best view of the lake. Fabulous time, incredibly beautiful.
