This spacious family-friendly home sits on a beautifully landscaped lot just a few steps from the private Gulf beaches. Enjoy one of the best Florida beaches without a crowd! The island is only accessible by boat (a dock slip is included in your rental) or water taxi. If you are looking for a quiet tropical island to relax and unplug, it is your dream vacation spot. Please note that it is a barrier island accessible only by boat; we provide water taxi information when you book. You cannot drive your vehicle to the island; you park at the marina on the mainland, where you catch the water taxi. There are no stores, bars, or restaurants, which means it has retained much of its "old Florida" ambiance and pristine beauty. For years, it was visited only by locals who would come on weekends to fish, go to the beach, and enjoy the privacy, peace, and quiet. Now, even though it has been discovered, the lack of commercial establishments means that the island appeals to those who want to get away from crowds, tourists, traffic, and technology. The home boasts new nautical décor with an open floor plan that flows from the kitchen (new updated appliances) to the open dining and living rooms (which feature high ceilings and a large screen TV) overlooking the island foliage. Three dining options – kitchen bar, dining room, or the fully screened front porch. Sleeping rooms are nestled in the back of the home for serene privacy. The private master bedroom is in its own section of the house, which offers privacy with an en-suite bathroom with an oversized vanity and shower, a large king-size bed, and a spacious walk-in closet. The other side of the house offers two more bedrooms and another bath.... each bedroom with queen-size beds. Satellite TV in two of the three bedrooms. The living and dining areas open to the screened front porch, which spans the full width of the house, featuring beach views and cooling breezes from the shore on a daily basis. It is the best place in the house to relax in the fresh air! This home also offers free wireless broadband wi-fi.... for staying in touch with the office if you must. Downstairs, a huge screened open-air deck offers a large outdoor living area, perfect for the kids to play, storing beach gear and sand toys, or just relaxing. A comfortable hammock and 2 sitting areas for enjoying evening breezes. The private sandy beaches are just a short stroll to the west, and you have access to a dock and boat slip on the bayside of the island. PLEASE NOTE THAT MINIMUM NIGHTLY STAYS MAY BE INCREASED FOR THESE DATES AS WELL. There are no stores or restaurants on LGI. Leave your car and your cares at the marina because it is accessible only by water taxi! That means our beaches are uncrowded, and tourists and traffic are just a mainland memory. Our "nightlife" consists of giant sea turtles laying their eggs -- our only bar is the sand bar, where you can find sand dollars and shells! We have a complimentary concierge available to assist with transporting your luggage and groceries to the home. You can NOT drive to the island. You must park your car at the marina. The island only has golf cart paths. This beautiful home, which is only 120 steps to the beach, is a spacious 1536 sq ft. It has DirecTV TV/Satellite and a master retreat. It also has a beach/ocean view, tropical foliage, and a wonderful outdoor shower. This home has both an indoor and outdoor area for dining. The owners provide lots of beach toys, including snorkels, boards, kids' toys, a grill, an umbrella, towels, outdoor furniture, an enclosed deck, a boat dock, and golf just 5 miles off the island. Please evaluate your expectations before booking a stay. If you are expecting a polished "resort" atmosphere, it is decidedly more rustic. During periods of heavy rain or tropical storms, there may be standing water on the roadways, at the dock, and around the house. This is a tropical environment with mosquitoes, rust, power outages, and other minor inconveniences. If you are expecting resort amenities and services, the island might not be for you. WILDLIFE!!!!! We have lots of sea turtle nests on the beach( you will see their nest marked during the summer months). Please do not disturb the nest. Also, we have an abundance of dolphins and manatees in our area, so please enjoy them in their natural habitat, and please don't litter. Pets are welcome with the payment of a $100 pet fee (per pet); pets must be current on their vaccinations and must be on preventative flea and tick control. Pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture. Please rinse sand from your pet before allowing him/her back into the house, and police the yard and beach of pet waste. The following breeds are NOT permitted: Akita, American Bulldog, Beaucerons, Caucasian Mountain Dog, Chow Chow, Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherds, Great Danes, Keeshounds, Pit Bull, Staffordshire Terriers, Presa Canarios, or Rottweilers. Each booking guest agrees to provide a list of all occupants and other contact info, and agrees not to exceed the number of occupants listed on the booking request submitted. Prior to departure, you are required to wash your dishes and launder any beach towels you have used. Laundry facilities are provided. No smoking anywhere inside the house. No parties allowed; only the people in the reservation may be at the house without prior permission. You will be required to sign our rental contract listing these terms. At least two members of your group must be age 25 or older. Neither the property owner nor the rental manager is responsible for any inability to occupy the premises due to acts of God, including but not limited to hurricanes, windstorms, floods, or red tide. No refunds are issued for early departure or unused days. Any request to reschedule reservation dates is subject to approval of the property owner and, if approved, requires the tenant to pay a $200 non-refundable rescheduling fee. The rescheduling credit has no cash value, and no refunds will be issued if the tenant decides to cancel their rescheduled dates.
