The site was perfect for night sky watching, which is why I was there. So yay! Well the super bright motion sensor flood lights did keep going off and felt like they were pointed right my direction, that did kill my night vision several times. 😂 Google maps leads you to the neighbors house, and the roads were so steep and gravely I was a bit nervous to make a wrong turn and have to climb the hills again. It was fine, but my CRV is not 4wd, and kinda weak sauce, so I spun out a bit. Most instant books provide directions instantly, this one required a phone call and list of instructions, I didn…
We loved Skye Ranch! Very private, amazing views, and good directions. Lots of wildlife…. There is long grass around, so bring a nice tarp to lay down.
Scott and Sarah were great hosts! Very helpful, communicative, accommodating and friendly. Moss Rock stood at the top of a hill with great open sky views to watch the sun set.
Scott and Sarah were total sweethearts and I loved every second of staying on their land. I was able to snag the hilltop view and had the most peaceful evening watching the sunset and had the coolest breeze coming through the mountains after a hot day. There are a few spots to stay, so we made our way down to the lower spot to use the picnic table for breakfast. I'd love to come back to stargaze some more and excited to hear all the things this lovely couple has in store for more hipcamps!
We stayed at Skye View, the uppermost site. It is a truly special place with amazing privacy and views of the valley. You can camp under a big oak tree as the cool breeze emerges from the valley. A real 4x4 is needed to get to the hilltop. We are already planning our next visit. Scott and Sara are responsive, welcoming hosts.
