Beautiful place but if you don't go at the right time of year it's very buggy
It's a nice place for a hike.
An off-grid gem! Beautiful, but come prepared. We had an amazing time off-grid at the Sheyenne National Grasslands. It offers incredible wide-open skies, tons of wildlife, and absolutely breathtaking stargazing at night. It is incredibly peaceful, but you do need to know a few things before driving out here: Getting There: It can be tricky to find. We turned onto 147th Ave (a gravel road) off of 67th Street. The exact entrance coordinates we used are: 46°27'52.2"N 97°20'35.4"W. Navigation: Highly recommend downloading the Garmin Explore app. It was phenomenal for navigating the interior, as…
Living in the Red River Valley for 30 years it is always nice to see some hills and trees that aren't on the river banks. Fun hiking loop easy of the parking lot and miles and miles of trails going west that are probably best ridden with a fat bike due to some loose sandy areas, but can push a regular mountain bike if you don't mind through these areas. Small picnic area with a permanent outhouse that is well maintained.
