At the heart of the property is a handcrafted, three-level treehouse - ideal for solo reflection or gatherings with friends and family. Camp beside it in your own RV or tent. While we don’t have toilets on-site yet, we’re working on it and always happy to answer questions or offer tips to make your stay more comfortable. The site sits just 30 yards off a quiet mountain road and includes views of three century-old log cabins, once part of the Stanislaus Forest. Whether you’re unwinding by the fire under the stars, exploring the creek, or venturing to nearby spots like Sonora Pass, Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge, or even Yosemite, Shangrilog is your gateway to the simple joys of mountain life. This is more than just a campsite - it’s our home. And we love sharing it with fellow nature lovers and kindred spirits.

Congenital host. Quiet setting off the road. Easy parking for our small RV.
We had an amazing time. At first look it seems close to the road but was not a problem at all. Matthew was great he came down and gave us some pointers on the best way to spend our time. The kids loved it also. No bugs, no people, no problems!
You’re basically parked in the driveway his house is up on the hill, but it wasn’t an issue. He greeted us when we got there (even though it was kind of late) and showed us around the campsite. (Games, zip line, water feature, etc) we mostly just needed a place to park and this was perfect. I would stay here again. (1.5 hr drive from the Big Oak Flat station)
This is a great location for an overnight stay. The hosts are very accommodating and they provided insights about the property for us to make the most out of our time there. Wonderful option that I would highly recommend if you have children between the ages of 5-12 years old.
I want to start by saying that this place is pretty cool!!! Great location, great host, close to the road but nothing crazy like i read in other reviews, i was with my five year old and he absolutely loved it! The tree house was the start of the weekend. Our host greeted us and gave us a tour, then our privacy! I highly recommend this place it is relaxing and well maintained.. will definitely go back!!!
