Sara’s Campground

Worst experience ever. We used to go there all the time years ago and when my daughter was growing up. We decided to go again, my husband passed and after the last time we were all there as a family, it has gone downhill. The sewage backed up all over our stuff, the owner was very rude. It is not at all the friendly wonderful place it used to be. Save yourself the disappointment and dont go there. There are much better places.

Timing of the stay is everything. Im sure its much more pleasant in summer but in April it was still a great campground stay for the season. They just opened so no ones really around and it reached 20°. But staff were friendly and helpful, providing a pamphlet of info at your site at check in and adaptors if needed for electricity. Beach is so close you can hear the waves. Sunset was beautiful. Presque isle state park also within walking distance. I stayed in site 43, Bayside so it is close to the diner and you can hear music and car traffic. Driving distance to grocery movies shops etc.
