Great place to camp in a rv cabin or a tent

I've always enjoyed camping here. But there needs to be site improvement done to level out the pull through sites to the sewer . The state has done nothing to improve sites since they have taken it back over. And the store is never open when it says it's supposed to be. And the road coming into the area is horrible.

Beautiful State Park located right on the Alabama River. My wife and I were able to camp here and put our Sea Doos in to travel up to the Sandbar restaurant in Selma AL that is also located right on the river. Terry the post attendant was very helpful on the phone and very accommodating - she should be training other state park attendants!

Very quiet this time of year. Not many camp in January. Restrooms were clean and warm. There are a couple of short hiking trails for exercise.

I've been going there since 2010. Back then the state ran it. We always tried to stay at cabin #4. The back deck faces the water. Great place to have your morning coffee and afternoon drink. All my pictures are of cabin 4. Except my fishing pictures. There is a dock for each of the cabins to tie your boat up. I've never had any problems with anyone messing with my boat or fishing gear. There are 2 boat ramps. 1 is much better the other. Much more room to maneuver. Sometimes there is a fishing tournament. And it gets crowded at the dock and on the water.
