Perched high above the surrounding hills, this property is known locally as Robber’s Roost. Legend has it that the infamous stagecoach bandit Black Bart once watched the road from this very hilltop, waiting for the stagecoach to pass below before making his move. Some say he intercepted it after the coach stopped at the old Boomer Shine Mill, perhaps giving the riders a little “liquid courage” before continuing their journey. These days, the only thing being held up here is time itself—though we still enjoy perching on the hill and getting high while watching the sunset. Guests come to Robber’s Roost to breathe the fresh coastal air, take in incredible sunsets, and enjoy the privacy and seclusion of the land. It’s a quiet place to relax, laugh with friends, and appreciate the wide-open views. We are marijuana-friendly, and the vibe here is mellow and adult-oriented. Because of that, this may not be the best fit for young children unless they’re accompanying easygoing adults who are comfortable with the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot with a bit of outlaw history, big skies, and unforgettable sunsets, Robber’s Roost might be just your kind of hideout.

Robbers Roost is an absolute gem. The directions were simple, the site was easy to find, and as soon as you arrive you know you’ve discovered something special. The place is wonderful—wide open forest views, plenty of privacy, and the kind of peaceful personal space that’s getting harder to find these days. Cosmo is a fantastic host and a true people person. He’s extremely accommodating, down‑to‑earth, and clearly cares about creating a great experience for his guests. Both me and my fiancee love this campground. It's unbeatable with its beautiful views, amazingly creative campsites and best campsite owner ever. Apon arriving we were great by the owner Cosmo who is the the legend personally toured us threw his campground showing us the overlooks, baby plants, and even bringing us to a bonfire at a festival on the top of the property. Cosmo made sure our stay was not only the best 420 but also made sure we will want to come back many times for the future. Cosmo's property is perfect for group campouts-- plenty of space spread over a beautiful hilltop, isolated from any neighbors. The hilltop stage is a beautiful touch, we brought out some instruments and had a great time playing for each other like our own private music festival! The "outhouse" toilets are fully flushing and make for just the right touch of luxury in an otherwise lovely patch of nature. We'll be back!
