Ridge Rider Campground

So glad to be gone love the campground but management is terrible manager shouldn't be in hospitality business at all

I really like this campground. It's rural, really rural. There's a bar, Bills, good food, cold beer. Campground is well maintained. Bath/shower is warm. Water is hot/good pressure. People who work there are super nice. They even have a small menu kitchen. Chicken nuggets/wings/pizza. The hill coming in is long. The last turn is a doozy. Going back in October.

Found this gem 5 miles off I-68. We were on the road for hours and weren't finding campgrounds that were convenient for us. Then we came upon Ridge Rider. It was dusk when we pulled in & the office was already closed. We left a VM and backed into a spot in the dark. In morning we were greeted with gorgeous views and a friendly manager. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the campground, being wary of the 3 resident geese, then were on our way. Pulled in and parked adjacent to another truck and camper with plenty of room to spare. Proceeded into the camp office / store and was scolded (openly in front of others) for ‘blocking the campstore entrance'; which I wasn’t. I was completely on the opposing side of the other truck and camper further away from the entrance. Regardless, It wasn’t as though people were clamoring to get to the campstore for hot dogs and charcoal, give me a break. The camp personnel are extremely helpful and friendly. The campgrounds are well maintained. I strongly recommend going here if you are thinking of camping in the area. The C&O tunnel is an interesting nearby attraction.
