Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals

RRG Cabin Rentals were extremely unhelpful to us. We were never able to make it to our cabin because it required 4 wheel drive and that information wasn’t included on our check in email. When we called to cancel our reservation they were unwilling to refund us- even a percentage of our reservation fee- even though we never entered the property. We rented the Above it All cabin at the end of March. The layout of the cabin, amount of natural light, and deck were perfect for us, which is why I even gave it 2 stars. You are up from the main road, but you DO hear/see traffic. We were excited for a restful weekend in the woods, until we discovered that one of the bedrooms had an EXTRA soft, cheap, mattress (like a bed in a bag situation) with a 4 inch tempurpedic pad thrown on the top, making an already bad situation worse. Top of the Mountain cabin was large and had great views but the bedding, pillows and cookware were unsanitary. I would never have taken my family to a place with filthy pillows, terrible mattresses and cookware scratched up and unusable. |If we’d just been told to bring everything it would have been better. Very few supplies of soap and bags, no extra anything. |We were very disappointed.

Pros:||The cabin was secluded, private and perfect for a short getaway. It has a fairly modern kitchen (no dishwasher) with a standard drip coffee pot and plenty of dishes to cook with (no pizza cutter though). There’s a w/d off the kitchen. The patio outside is really nice and there’s a fire pit and hot tub. I could see the screened patio being welcoming in the summer to keep pests away. My dog loved the big yard. The bed linens were clean and pillows comfy. I appreciated the soaps and the hand towels. There was no sign of pests and it appeared fairly clean. I really liked the big foot wallpa…
