Simple setup on a pretty plot of land close to multiple swimming holes, an excellent little grocery store, and the couple restaurants of North San Juan (with Nevada City and Grass Valley not too far). Solen was a welcoming and accommodating host. We had a perfect stay and recommend highly. Bonus: wild blackberries everywhere when in season!
We had a wonderful time at this campsite!! The location is so sweet, with blackberries all around and the stars were glorious! There’s a sink and a few tables and a campstove too, through w brought our own just in case. Solen is an ideal host - welcoming and accommodating and really just a quality human. We spent a beautiful day at the Yuba and can’t wait to come back soon!
This was my first Hipcamp stay, and it was great! In spite of unfavorable weather, I was able to hike at the nearby Hidden Falls Regional Park, and enjoyed cooking with the grill and propane stove on a table that was provided by the host. Woke up to a family of deer, and fell asleep to the sound of a thousand frogs. It was dreamy.
I enjoyed van camping on Solen’s property. The area is pretty quiet (light local traffic on the residential road adjacent to the property) and it’s nicely located for a trip to Nevada City or to the river. Walking distance to the creek and to Mother Truckers for supplies (it’s a surprisingly well-stocked little grocery market). It was nice to have the charcoal grill and water available, but I was a little disappointed that the power wasn’t working. Solen did try to fix it, but to no avail. I ended up having to leave a day early because I couldn’t keep my power station charged enough with the s…
We camped in the spring and really enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the frogs in the pond and making a small campfire out of twigs gathered nearby. There was the absolute sweetest cat who spent time with our group as we cooked and hung out around the campfire, and even got along well with our (well socialized) dog. The pond was small but fun! And 10/10 well water from the hose. A flock of wild turkeys acted as our alarm clock—they started gobbling daily around 6, perhaps they were brooding nearby? Great location close to the Yuba River and Nevada City, highlight of our trip was a day h…
Cute place, but too close to someone’s home for my comfort zone. You could see the persons house from the pond and campfire area, but your tent location was private from being able to see their house. It’s a Little walk down a semi steep hill from where you park your car to access it. You Can’t pull your car right up to the camp spot. Owner was nice and communicated in a timely manner.
