About Private Sanctuary on the Tule River

Located at the foothills of the Sequoia National Monument, this private property is stewarded by our Indigenous elder Xico with permission from the Yukot peoples (Tule River Tribe), the original stewards of Springville. The land is bordered by the Tule River, accessible by a short walk. It offers palpable energy and breathtaking stargazing and is perfect for ceremonial experiences. Amenities include an outdoor shower and porta-potties within walking distance. Please leave no trace and pack out all garbage and plastics. Avoid synthetic fragrances or chemical toiletries, as everything returns to the land. Treat this extraordinary and sacred space carefully to keep it beautiful for everyone.

Very nice campsite. Xavier and the caretakers were chill people. His rules are strict but it keeps the area clean and organized.

This land is stunning. I appreciated the people who helped orient us to the space; such kind energy. And I could feel how valued this land is by all who were there while we were. I am looking forward to returning, hopefully for a longer stay in order to be with the river for longer.

We enjoyed our stay at this special place and Xavier was a welcoming host, and shared helpful information about visiting Sequoia National Park (the reason for our stay). The river was perfect for cooling off in the hot July temps. Our tent site was fantastic, and we loved sleeping with the sound of the rushing river and the stars overhead.

But the *gorgeous* communal kitchen, sitting nook, shower, water, toilets, fridge! cell service etc, just made the trip soooo much more lovely lol Xavier was such a gracious wonderful host with such a unique special space in the midst a beautiful serene setting. He’s truly put his heart into that land and shares it openly. Spectacular all around. The river was accessible & shallow enough for taking dips/wading, very user friendl…
