It is a good spot for gathering oysters and clams; there are designated areas, restrooms, and water available. The beach itself, however, is poor.
Potlatch State Park is a great spot if you enjoy oyster harvesting right by the water. You can dig for oysters along the shoreline and even open them and eat them fresh on the beach—they were incredibly plump and delicious! To enter the park, you need a Discover Pass. You’ll also need a shellfish/seaweed harvesting permit. Each person can take up to 18 oysters, but the shells must be left behind at the beach. It’s a really fun and unique outdoor experience, especially if you like combining light exploring with fresh seafood by the ocean. Definitely worth a visit!
Had a great time getting our limits of oysters and clams. Great beach to do so.
