Careful with navigation! If you set avoid tolls it might try to take you the WRONG WAY! The Reservoir road is closed to the public! You have to navigate to Pikes Peak tollway.
Beautiful campground and state park. Great walking trails and excellent views from the overlooks of the Mississippi River. No wifi, but good cell service. All sites have electricity, but only a few have full hookups.
Signs are many and easy to follow. Campground is very clean. Campsites are relatively flat so not much leveling needed. Electrical hookups do not impinge on parking. Water hookups available at several sites. There are several pull through sites as well. Picnic tables are handicapped accessible. Firepits are in great condition and have attached grills that can be swiveled. Since we are camping early in the year, the showers were not yet open. After a few days the DNR opened them. Roomy, clean, hot showers with excellent pressure. Close to a lot of hiking. Just across the bridge is shop…
