Beautiful park to visit. But need to trim trees on scenic views.
We stayed in the lodge. First off, I will say that the park grounds themselves are decent - there are good hiking trails with some great views of the Mississippi River, and we enjoyed the views from the front of the lodge. That’s why I’m giving two stars. From there, it all goes downhill. Part of why we booked the lodge was that there was supposed to be a hot tub and sauna. The hot tub was out of commission for renovations. The sauna didn’t work. (They didn’t bother to post this anywhere online before booking.) The lodge and restaurant were my issue. I paid more than Chicago or NYC prices for amenities that didn’t work and to stay with people who had hospitality as their last thought. What a shame.
