Pretty crowded but quiet
Nice, quiet park. Mostly pull through sites. No dump site, but Caballo Lake SP, 5 mins has one.
This is a nice, peaceful area. We brought our 41 foot fifth wheel in with no problem. We boon docked and had access to water and trash. There is not much to do here besides walking, hiking, or bird watching. The river is very low and can’t be fished. There are also quite a few goat head stickers. It is hard to find areas for your dogs to go to the bathroom but that seems par for the course in many state parks in NM. If you keep your dogs on the gravel road, it is much better. We enjoyed our two week stay here!
Warm shower in an unheated cement building. Shower stall was actually ADA friendly and could accommodate someone in a small shower chair if needed. Many spiders and, again, a very cold room. It would be nice to see New Mexico State Parks being taken care of and maintained, especially since they've raised prices so high... They just don't care about what the amenities look like or the memories they induce. Other states really take pride in their parks... not New Mexico.
