SPACE This Hikers Retreat's well-appointed spaces are designed for your comfort and convenience, and you can bring the family pup along with you! The bedroom, your private sanctuary, features a queen-sized bed with 2 large closets for storage, comfortable linens and extra pillows and blankets. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and all the cookware and dishes needed to prepare your meals. Indoor and outdoor dining areas will find you with coffee in the morning sitting in the treetops, or grilling your steak and lobster at night. The apartment provides a functional workspace with a desk and reliable internet access and lots of natural light to soak in the seasons. There is AC for those warmer days, and heat cooler nights. The living room has comfy couches, a flat screen TV and a view of the deck and wildlife outside. The bathroom has a tub/shower, lots of light and crisp clean linens. This is a cozy, romantic and well appointed apartment to relax and enjoy after a day of hiking and exploring our beautiful oceanside area. * Your one small to medium sized dog is welcome with a pet agreement and pet fee. * There is ocean access in the neighborhood across the street, if you want to explore the waterfront. Acadia National Park is appox 15 miles Bar Harbor 15 miles Restaurants and lobster pounds, Sugar bakery are approx 5 miles Trenton grocery store and gas station approx. 7 miles Ellsworth with shopping, groceries, antiquing and restaurants approx 10 miles ACCESS Private entrance up a flight of stairs ADDITIONAL RULES RENTAL RULES Smoking and vaping are NOT allowed ANYWHERE on the property. Not inside, not outside. If smoking is detected inside the house, an automatic $600 cleaning fee will be charged to your credit card. Illegal activities are NOT allowed on the property, including, but not limited to, illegal substances, illegal drugs, and underage drinking. People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person on the property is the sole responsibility of the Guest. If you are adding guest(s) to the guest party, we must be notified IN ADVANCE of your reservation. In addition, the total number of guests must not exceed the home's maximum capacity. You are a short-term renter; you are not considered a tenant for any rights or purposes. The unit is privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. Only use appliances for their intended uses. PETS ARE NOT allowed in some properties. All pets must have been accepted in advance and have a pet addendum signed. All pets require a pet fee paid in advance. Fire pits are not allowed on some properties. Please read the guest book. Some towns/properties do not allow ANY outdoor fires. Swim at your own risk. Be aware of the tides and storms coming in. Kayaks can be rented locally, and are not supplied. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units. Water and Septic: The property is on a well and septic systems. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products or wipes should be flushed at any time. If it is found that feminine products or wipes have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged for damages/repairs. When using the washer and dryer, please note that there may be minerals in the water that may affect the contents of the wash. Check IN is at 3 pm, Check OUT is at 10 am. Please pay attention to these times, the cleaners will be working to prepare the property promptly. Please move any furniture, toys, bedding, etc., back to where you found them before leaving. Please clean the outdoor grill, table tops, range, counter tops, dishes, etc., before you leave. Please start a load of towels in the washing machine. Please strip the sheets and put them on top of the beds. Please read the guest book for more relevant instructions regarding your specific rental. Please put trash out on trash day specific to your property. Instructions can be found in the guest book. We use garbage tags that we pay for at most properties. Put your white kitchen garbage bags into one black outdoor garbage bag, and put ONE tag on the black bag only. If you are confused, please refer to the guest book or call the property manager. Trash must go out on trash days. Recycling in Maine is not what it used to be. We are taking returnables only, which are redeemable for money. You can take them yourself to redeem or leave them in a separate bag for pick up. We do not recycle glass, misc. plastic, aluminum, etc. Please report anything broken or damaged as soon as possible.
