I brought my own room so that doesn't count but they have RVs and impressive glamping tents with AC and hot tubs! Spacious, mostly level, concrete RV sites with trees and full hookups! This place might properly called a resort. They have pretty much everything you might want on site. It's right on the river. They can launch you in a kayak or canoe. Pick you up after either short or long downstream trip. You can stop and dig fossils on the way. (Btw, you can apply online for a permit to dig vertebrate fossils and you must report those findings. We didn't find any shark teeth, we only found ver…

We have camped all over the state of Florida. Been to some nice places and some not so nice. Peace River Oaks is one of the nicest spots we have had the pleasure to enjoy. Spacious sites. Massive oak trees. Great wifi. Wonderful clean facilities. The owners and employees have been gracious and accommodating. And as a major bonus they have multiple activities. Canoe rentals with downstream pick up and return shuttles, ATV rentals, guided fossil hunting tours. Today we chose the Canoe ride and it was perfect. Peaceful and beautiful. Very nicely maintained and clean campground and amenities. We booked one of the glamping tents for one night after doing a fossil digging tour with Fossil Recovery (you can book them through Peace River Oaks, recommend them as well). The tent was thoughtfully appointed and very clean/new. I wish we'd been able to look around more and enjoy the campground, possibly do some canoeing on Saturday, but I'm currently dealing with limited mobility. Definitely interested in coming back when we're able to do more.
