This is an amazing sacred place. Legend states this is where Sitting Bull had his vision during a Sioux sundance where he gave 100 pieces of flesh, 50 from each arm on June 4-7th 1876. His vision was that of U.S. Army soldiers falling upside down into camp. This was a few weeks before the soon to be battle of Greasy Grass or Little Bighorn Massacre as known in history. The sundance didnt happen here, it is located about 4 miles north of today’s Jimtown bar & south of Colstrip, Mt. Along the bluffs to the west overlooking Rosebud creek.
