Madison Campground

Madison Campground Madison Campground is a peaceful and scenic spot in Yellowstone, offering majestic views of the Madison Valley and frequent bison sightings. It’s also just a short drive to the West Entrance—the fastest way to exit the park—and the area has plenty of great restaurants for dining. While showers are not available at the campground, you can find them at Canyon Village or Old Faithful (about 30–40 minutes away). Great, easy and lovely spot!

Most of these campsites are so crowded and small you are lucky if you can fit your camper on them. They are so close together there is virtually no privacy. I have been camping for over 50 years and would say this is one of the worst campgrounds I have ever been in. Bathrooms are old and very outdated.

This campgeound is beautiful with great views of the Madison River.

I honestly did not enjoy Madison CG very much. The sites are located very close together with little to no foliage for privacy. The campground is also located next to the Madison junction, which is possibly the busiest entrance in the summer, and in my experience you can hear the vehicles passing. I enjoy going to sleep early and getting up early to beat the crowds and I wasn't able to sleep well due to constant noise and bright lights in nearby campsites.
