Lordsburg KOA Journey

An old couple on the KOA here in Lordsburg they try very hard to keep it updated and you can see him working and hoeing in theyard. It was 280 miles from Van Horn and we were happy to have power water Wi-Fi and even a restaurant. Yeah it has its flaws. It’s dusty wind blows, doesn’t have the whole holiday thing going on, but it’s better than the desert personally I’m thankful to be here.

Park Review 1. Park Quality - This was my first KOA experience and the staff was great but the park is dated and tired. Arriving at the park you’ll drive through what seems to be a very sketchy area due to the shuttered homes and businesses. OK for a one night stop but not much more. 2. Sites - Plenty of space between sites and the utilities were good. Since I was there for just one night, I opted for a site without sewer. The pad was mostly dirt and rocks but had no problem getting level. 3. Location - Very convenient for on and off of I-10. 4. Noise - I didn’t notice much noise from the …

Easy overnight stay. Friendly check in.

As others have said, this is basically just a parking lot. The power went out the first day of our stay with nobody around to ask why. When we finally found a KOA employee, he didn’t speak a word of English. The pool was also closed with no mention of this on their website. They also were out of propane. They are the ONLY vendor in town that fills propane tanks. This might be fine for a one night stay but doesn’t live up to the KOA reputation.

Easy spot for overnight stay. All gravel with a tree at most spots. Less than a mile off I10, so there is the hum of highway traffic.
