Little Bennett Campground

Little Bennett is our "homebase" camp when we are passing through our old home area. It is a wonderful shady spot with full hook ups, picnic tables and grills in every site. A nice camp store too. A great place to get away and "camp" and relax. Edited on 10/19/25 I have downgraded my reviews to 4 stars based on our most recent stay here (10/12-16/25). We stayed four nights in mid-October, and the campground was nearly empty. We tried to extend our stay by 4 extra days, but every time we called the office, nobody would answer. As far as the actual tent sites go, they were pretty nice, the sites aren’t overly priced and you don’t feel like you’re on top of your neighbors. However, I stayed in loop B where there is no water or electricity (which I knew about) but the closest bathhouse happened to be closed without any prior notice from employees. I ended up packing up a night early due to having to drive 1/2 mile to the bathroom each time. I also stayed during their “Halloween palooza” which was great for kids. I only wish they had more things to do as an adult.

If you're looking to have a boondocking-like environment without the hardships of actually boondocking, and if you can stomach the price, this is a fantastic option. I almost hate writing this review because it was so perfect for us, including how empty it was (though the fact that it was a lot of weekdays in April has a lot to do with that). For context, we stayed in our travel trailer (~25 feet) on Loop D with full RV hookups - power (50A / 30A / 20A), water, and sewer during the month of April. I was going to be fine with their policy on only burning wood you get from their store, except they seemed to be open for like maybe 10 minutes per day. So our options were, freeze, or forage for wood. Because we checked multiple times throughout our stay and they were always closed. The campsites seemed clean. The bathrooms were cleaned while we were there because our stay started on the first day they were open for the season.
