Lazy Rooster Ranch

About Lazy Rooster Ranch
The ranch was the site of a sawmill in the early 1900s when the old Rio Grande Southern and Galloping Goose Railroads ran through the property along the Dolores River. All that’s left now is a little shack in the middle of the meadow and some remnants of the railroad tracks in the river.

Jacqui, Rick, and Major Henry were excellent hosts. The campground was wonderful, and I was lucky enough to experience both the campsite and a cabin. Campsite was clean, had amenities, and was right beside a beautiful sounding river. If you can sleep with that white noise, I'd suggest the cabin heh. Cabin was, again, clean, cute, and warm (temps were hovering around freezing when I visited). The bed was super comfy and there were places to plug in devices for charging and what not. Lastly, and this is a biggie, Jacqui and Rick were laid-back, friendly, and accommodating. They were excellen…
Jaq was really nice and helpful! Had water and firewood available for us. Our site was private and secluded. Well maintained.
Great location, right on the river, and able to take the 1.5 mile trail to town. Jacqui and Ken were both extremely helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
Wonderful visit. What a gem. The bed was so comfortable and Jaq made everything seamless.
We really enjoyed staying at the ranch ! We were literally right on the rivers edge in a beautiful and secluded setting. Jaq was very helpful and attentive. Supplied wood every night and even a smores pack for the little one ! We will definitely be back when we are in the area next time
