Lake Wenatchee State Park

Let me start by saying this is a beautiful place. Nothing can diminish that, except persistent winds, and when the wind dies down in summer plenty of bugs. I like it in fall, when the colors really come out. Sadly, the campground with the best colors usually closes at the peak of said colors. My current gripe is more of a system wide complaint - the new system the state parks are using is flawed. We are talking about an electronic (database) system for reservations and registration. The views are incredible to start this review off. Great place to let the kids run around and play. The water was crystal clear and the sand itself was very clean ( not very rocky). We will definitely be coming back during the warmer summer months cause this water looks like a blast to swim in due to it being so clear and sandy.

Let's start this review with a copy of the websites information - South Campground open to 1st come, 1st served camping ---The South Campground is open with a limited number of sites available. The North Campground is still closed due to lingering snow and is expected to reopen around May 1. Until May 7, all campsites throughout the area are offered on a first come, first served basis.
