Lake Powhatan Recreation Area & Campground

I don't even need to write the long list of problems that you run into here. All that a person has to do is see the tons of other negative reviews. All that I will say is that this campsite has a novel size list of rules that they heavily enforced. Quiet time hours are a joke. They say 10pm but they are riding around starting at 8-9 pm telling you to quiet it down

We were first time tent campers and had a great experience. The park and camp sites are extremely well maintained, the staff was so helpful, and the setting was great! Great hiking, mountain biking, trail running, walking. The facilities are clean and well maintained. There are bear boxes for food storage. There is a burn ban right now and the staff were so helpful making sure we knew our options for cooking and safe use. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Stayed here this past week for 4 nights and loved it. The staff was so friendly, the bathrooms/showers were very clean, and the sites were spaced well enough that it felt pretty private. It is in a great location from Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I highly recommend this campsite.
