Lake Hartwell State Park

Only one hiking trail. The office is only open 2 hours per day (non-consecutive, only for check in/out of campers). Charged per person, $3 per adult as of April 2026. Has a boat slip And fishing dock.

We drove through the campground mainly to find the number of our favorite spot so we could book it, and to check the lake levels. The campground was well kept, clean, and they've added some cute little cabins you can rent. We plan to camp this summer. The staff has always been super helpful. Great family campground, we just need some rain to fill our lake back up.

Nice campground. Host keep bathrooms clean. But campers didnt. Don't wash your shoes in sink and leave all the dirt and stuff off your shoes in sink. That's why you have water at your camp site for. But stall doors in women's need fixed and up to date toilet paper holders would be nice. Or just take your own toilet paper. But other then that great campground. Would go again.

I really wanted to like this state park. Staying two weekend nights this past weekend convinced me to take this destination off of our "do-over" list. The roads were narrow, cracked, and filled with potholes. The bathhouse was a disaster area - no toilet paper and one toilet completely clogged with (wait for it) CIGARETTE BUTTS! Many campers were rude, had boat trailers parked all over the place, even on other people's campsites or blocking part of the one-way road, letting their dogs run freely, barking at anyone and everyone.
