Absolutely beautiful park! So many trails and views to enjoy! It is dog friendly. Lots of benches, picnic spots. There's also a small airport. Had a great time and will definitely go back to explore more!
I went across the street to Twin Lakes. Small gravel lot with a short drive to a boat launch. Nice little lake that has a Beaver lodge in back out of sight.
A huge park with many different trails to choose from. Rode the Sussex Branch Trail starting in Byram and rode 12.5 miles into Newton and back. Definitely could have gone further, but rain was expected late afternoon and wanted to get back before the rain. Lots of great scenery along the way. Went mid March on a noce spring day so temps were above normal with not many people on the trail. At about 10 miles in from Byram, you pass through the town of Newton and ypu can grab some lunch at some of the local places. My go to spot is O'Reilly's Pub which kept my hydrated for the ride back.
