Honestly this campground sucks. Way too expensive for a mosquito infested wooded area. 60 bucks and then you have to pay 10 bucks a day to get on the island. When we got there the electric wasn't working (why was I given a site with red tape on the outlet?) And the lamest part is that they lock up the vending machine inside at 5pm.
Stopped for an overnight on our way to Congaree NP and loved it here. The oak trees made me a little nervous coming in our class A so bigger rigs keep an eye on those low hanging branches. The park is fairly large but many sites and the roads are pretty snug which is pretty typical in state parks, I was thankful there was a spacious FHU pull-through available for our 1 night. There is a good vibe and looks like lots more to explore so we will certainly return for longer than just a stop over. The mosquitoes were INSANE in early May so bring bug spray! Great campground!! They have added some beautiful sites. Definitely a recommended stop if you're visiting the island.
