Nestled in the heart of Island Park, Idaho at the foot of the majestic Sawtelle Peak, Old West Escapes resembles an 1880's Old West Town with all the comforts of home. We invite you to stay with us while enjoying your Yellowstone vacation, as we are just 25 minutes from the park's west entrance. The area has plenty to offer including ATV/Snowmobiling with trails starting right out the front door, fishing, hiking, golfing, are other activities that will keep you exploring as you enjoy the great outdoors. The property is located on just over 4 acres that celebrates the hard working Pioneers, Native Americans, Lawmen, and Outlaws that had a hand in shaping the west. The cabins are a mix of 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms each with unique style and decor to match. They include a full kitchen, stackable laundry, queen sized beds, sofa sleeper for the kids, and smart TV. The old west cabin was a place where travelers boarded their horses for a few nights or rented out a horse and buggy for the day. Our livery is a new cozy 768 sq ft cabin featuring 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a sofa sleeper for the kids. Perfect for small groups. Need another cabin to accommodate your gang? The full kitchen includes all the basic cooking utensils you'll need with dining space for the group, the living area has comfy couches to enjoy the fireplace, or stream your favorite shows on the 50" smart TV, enjoy free programming on the Roku channel or feel free to sign in to your account on subscription based channels. (Just be sure to sign out before departing). Experience the incredible sunrise or sunset and take in the amazing views from the covered front porch, complete with comfy chairs. Got a little dirty while out exploring? Not a problem, the stackable laundry center will have you cleaned up and ready to go in no time. WiFi, towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels are all included. Gas, Food, ATV/Snowmobile rentals and Supplies are all available just around the corner. Come make memories with us as you "experience the west". David and Julie White have been married for over 20 years and always dreamed of owning and operating their own business. David is a licensed contractor with a background in residential construction and home remodeling, Julie just finished a Bachelor’s degree in Business from BYU-Idaho. They thought it was the right combination to begin building their dream together. In 2018, they found the perfect property in Island Park and began building this cabin. David and Julie, along with their daughters, have worked together to bring this dream to reality. They hope you enjoy your time in Island Park, as you “experience the west” with them. Only 25 minutes from West entrance into Yellowstone National park and close to Henry's Fork on the Snake River. The cabin is also within 5 minutes of restaurants, gas station/grocery, ATV/Snowmobile rentals where you can grab anything you may need or the pesky little things you may have forgotten. There isn't any public transportation in the area so you'll need to have a vehicle to get around. There are 700+ miles of trails that you can ride motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles etc. which are available for rent at High Mountain Adventures just around the corner. From November to April you can depend on snow in Island Park. The roads are plowed well, but it would be a good idea to bring a vehicle that works well in the snow. A 4-wheel drive or AWD is recommended.
