Could not ask for a better location. The rooms were comfortable and great value. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The view from the patio of the room was beautiful overlooking the sand dunes and mountains. I would absolutely stay here again.
The room itself was clean, but as two women traveling alone, safety was a major concern. The sliding glass door had been left unlocked from a previous stay or cleaning, and aside from the deadbolt, there was no additional security feature like a chain or latch. Given that the lodge is quite remote—about 30 minutes from the nearest town—we ultimately chose to leave and stay in Alamosa where we felt safer.
Rustic but very nice. No restaurants close so bring food or eat before you come in.
