Total last minute deal, haven't even seen the beach, yet. It's raining off and on. Tomorrow I'll set up the van tent. Today is just chilling inside in the van.
KUDOs. A leisurely, easy, 2.5 hour drive from New Orleans Airport. The park and surrounding areas are dry and dusty with little foliage. There are bathrooms and a ramp to the beach. Seeing all the homes on stilts is a reminder that this area was greatly damaged by a hurricane 5 years ago. CHALLENGEs. The pier is closed. No benches or tables.
