First Landing State Park Campground

Nice campsite and friendly staff. It was very noisy between the other campers and the training base next door. Walking trails to the cypress swamps are a short drive from campsites. Not exactly a retreat into the seclusion of nature that I prefer. The beach was quiet, but it is on the Chesapeake Bay, so don't expect ocean waves. Good spot if you like city conveniences less than a mile away.

I absolutely loved my stay here! The maritime forest canopy and natural brush between sites create a beautiful, nestled feeling that offers a moderate amount of privacy for a popular park. The ground was perfect—firm enough to hold stakes securely but soft enough to drive them in easily. The bathhouses were in excellent condition, with full soap, paper towels, and individual shower stalls that each have their own private changing area.
