Ferncrest Promised Land

100% loved everything about this place from convenience, to response time, from checking in to checking out, incredible experience. Easy and stress free if you need a weekend to escape from the city or celebrate your 8 year old’s bday (which we did)! We’ll definitely return.

This place is lovely. We will definitely be back for another visit! There are too many trails to explore on one trip, and plenty of breweries for an easy drink/meal nearby. Ferncrest is well looked after. We did have an electrical issue but they were responsive. One thing I would advise for future visitors: if you have an issue, there is staff onsite during the day, and your issue will be much easier to resolve if you reach out before they leave. The hot tub water smelled terrible and was extremely dirty. When I checked, both the water and the inside of the hot tub were completely green and filthy. I’m not even mentioning the bugs and frogs in the water, which might be considered normal in that environment. There was no one I could ask to change the water, so I never used it. I strongly recommend checking before using it. There was no service at all, and no one seemed to care. The place felt completely unmanaged. Also, the tents were unbearably hot—like an oven. This was our third time staying at one of these properties (once at The Rex, second time at FC) and we have always had a good experience. We have previously been able to look past the very expensive tent stay and price gouging camp store but we will NEVER be returning after this stay unfortunately. We stayed in a dome tent and about a handful of other couples were coming and going during our stay. It’s frustrating that they book all these people right next to each other when the campground is basically deserted in this spring season.
