Fahnestock State Park is a nice NY State Park located in Putnam and Dutchess Counties. The park has numerous hiking trails (including part of the Appalachian Trail), boating, swimming, fishing, and camping. The park also offers over 12 miles of groomed hiking trails in the winter and an education center. There are many trails to hike in the park. Most of the park is located along a rocky ridgeline and there are many nice views to be had. The views along the lake are also very good. The park could do a better job telling where parking areas for hiking trails are located, it helps to have local …
Excellent skiing forrest area with rentals and snacks.
Came to hike and play my Native American Flutes. Ended up at Pelton Pond. Absolutely Beautiful there, wonderful experience
