The owner started life in a small town in Texas, spending most free time building forts in the desert before his family moved to Costa Mesa, CA in 1987. He instantly fell in love with the ocean and all the best natural features of Southern California, always at the beach, building BMX jumps in the bluffs, or camping (esp. Joshua Tree). His connection with nature and outdoor recreation was rooted early. Far away, close to home. Splitrock is located: 5 miles from downtown Fallbrook - a scenic 10-minute drive to several restaurants, shops, groceries, and gas, 14 miles from all the major stores, plus wine tasting in Temecula 1 mile east of Camp Pendleton Nature Preserve to enjoy the views. 3 miles to the Santa Margarita River Trail has a large parking lot. It's a beautiful trail along a natural river lined with trees, and maybe you can find the locals' swimming hole and tire swings where the river meets the road. 11 miles to the Santa Rosa Plateau offers miles of trails. This home offers a serene escape just minutes from downtown Fallbrook. This 101-acre retreat features breathtaking views of Mt. Palomar and the Pacific horizon, miles of hiking and biking trails, and a welcoming farm environment with free-roaming animals.
