Elkhorn Shores Campground

Well, we attempted to stay here but it was a bad time of year…. The clamping tent smelled like mold and mildew and was covered in caterpillars and crickets, and the single supposed twin bed wouldn’t fold out so we slept on the ground with the dog. We couldn’t wait to leave. The bathroom wasn’t locked and ppl came from across the campgrounds to use this one I think because it was supposed to be cleaner than the others? There wasn’t really anything to do nearby, and the trailer park that was attached is VERY sketchy at night and I would NOT recommend walking the trail at night esp as a woman. Yo…

Went to the Renaissance Faire. Small, but nice. The people were friendly.

The location is beautiful right next to the river! Signage to enter the park isn’t great and kind of confusing, but their staff was on site to help us find our location. You will need a longer extension cord for electrical or be prepared to use RV batteries. Sites are farther than most to access the power pedestal. Water hookup was the same situation. No on-site restrooms or showers so you will need to have all resources before entering the site. There is a Love’s close by for showers and other supplies. Overall great site, just be prepared before you go.
