Devils Backbone Camp

This is a great place to use as a base camp for the area. The sites are clean and large, the facilities are nice, and the location is wonderful. Make sure you understand the way the hookups are. If you have an odd numbered site the hookups are .most likely going to be on the wrong side of your camper. Plenty of water pressure, power has been stable, and the sewer connection works as expected. Check in was easy. If we are in the area again, we would consider staying here.

Devil’s Backbone Campground is the perfect family-friendly camping spot in the mountains. The campground is clean, well maintained, and the staff is incredibly helpful—they even called us when our RV awning broke, which was above and beyond. We loved waking up to beautiful mountain views, and the location is ideal with hiking trails, creeks, and outdoor activities all within minutes. Our kids had a blast exploring, playing games, and being outside all day. It’s also very dog-friendly, which made the trip even better. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and a relaxing environment. Awesome campground. Bring your own shade though. Brewery is a short walk away.

We loved this campground, lots nearby to fill a weekend. The Blue Ridge Parkway is like 10 mins away, there are trails on site at the campground, the brewery is a few minute walk with food, games, etc. Bathhouse is great! Better condition than most campgrounds. The campground and brewery are both dog friendly. Only downside is the tent sites don't have a lot of privacy and your tent will definitely be in visibility and close proximity with other tents (some sites are better than others though).
