One of the most beautiful places in Alabama. Heads up, let your people know where you are because there is no cellular reception up there.
This is a must stop park! It's absolutely amazing! There is something for everyone to do. The scenery is amazing! Lots of walking and hiking trails. Something to suit everyone's abilities. The town of Fort Payne has everything you might need. Close to the interstate but far enough away so not to hear anything.
Primitive sites are behind a locked gate which I really enjoyed for safety and solitude. It was so quiet and campsites are very tidy there are trash cans conveniently located so there was no trash which I also loved so much! The staff at the lodge are so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The food at the restaurant was convenient as well. There were 3 meals a day served there. There were so many hiking options from easy to advanced. There is a really cool nature center that's worth checking out. The gift shop had really cool hand made art booths. They had guided hikes availab…
