Desert Reef Hot Springs was originally created in 1986 as a labor of love and an effort to build a community, a secret and protected refuge from the world. This intent rings true in the recent expansion and renovation of the hot springs completed in 2022. We welcome you to join us for a soak or an overnight stay in our beautifully remodeled Airstreams or Tiny Homes. We provide a safe, welcoming refuge for curious and creative folks who are looking to relax, recharge, and find some inspiration and joy. Desert Reef is located in the secluded and scenic foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in Florence, Colorado, also known as Royal Gorge Country. We offer therapeutic waters, big open skies, tranquility, site-specific art installations, and a nonjudgemental attitude with a belief in inclusivity. We have multiple pools for you to relax and reset and be your best self. We take our responsibility of creating a safe space for all our guests and staff to feel comfortable being themselves very seriously. Our goal is for all guests to leave changed - relaxed, inspired, and open to the endless possibility that lies ahead of them. We take great care to preserve our land, our water, and our community and look forward to welcoming you. Desert Reef is about a 45-minute drive from Colorado Springs and 1.5 hours from Denver.

I had the most magical experience at Desert Reef Hot Springs. I stayed overnight in one of the tiny homes with a private hot spring tub, and it was truly one of the most peaceful, quiet, and rejuvenating experiences I have had in a long time. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The desert sky was breathtaking, the stillness was unmatched, and the experience from sunset to sunrise felt incredibly grounding and restorative. It was exactly what I needed. The draw is the amazing hot springs and beautiful location. The staff checked in with us as we were there to check the water and make sure we were comfortable. No phones allowed on site which is nice for privacy and disconnection. There is also nudity allowed on certain times of the week. Overall great place to go!
The most peaceful, rejuvenating getaway — every single time! This was our third visit to Desert Reef Hot Springs this year, and it somehow keeps getting better each time. The road out there is very bumpy & feels like you should turn around lol but stick it out We are on a very sad family trip, and started it off with this. Was absolutely magical, as we went at night. Swimsuits are optional , but it’s such a chill vibe. Made for relaxing completely. The STARS. I’m from the country and the view of the stars was nothing I’ve seen before. Such a great little anniversary getaway for our 31st wedding anniversary! The only suggestion I would like to offer is to please provide sugar in the rooms. I was unable to use the sqeetened latte in the packet because I am highly allergic to dairy. I feel like that's a pretty common allergy and I really would have appreciated tasty coffee on my anniversary morning. Super friendly staff, beautiful views and wonderful soaks! We came during the weekday. It wasn't crowded. I was so worried about what to expect inside. This place is clothing optional. I wore a bathing suit with shorts. It's really up to you what you want to wear which is nice. This place is soooo relaxing. Quiet. Clean surounding, clean restrooms, clean pools. They check the temp on all pools every hour. You can bring snacks and eat but out of the pool. You can bring your own water bottle and just fill up in the reception area. We will definitely coming back here.
