Denali Rainbow Village & RV Park

We had an alright time at the RV park. The spots are very close together on a dirt lot. Lots and lots of off-leash dogs which was disappointing because it clearly stated leashed dogs only. The showers were basic but clean. The staff didn’t seem to know much about anything and had to search the office for shower tokens. The staff were kind and pleasant though and made an effort to make sure we knew the check in process before we arrived. While the campground is conveniently close to Denali National Park, the actual site felt more like an overpriced parking lot than a true camping experience. Showers weren’t included and required an extra fee, which felt unreasonable given the already steep price. When we originally called to book, the customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, so we ended up booking through the Hipcamp app instead. Unfortunately, the location just didn’t live up to expectations. We ended up leaving the second night and boondock in our camper van for a more real camping experience.

The place gets a three out of five. After all throughout Alaska, I wanted to be close to Denali, and this was in the midst of the tourist areas, but the RV facilities would be rated at three. Although some reviews are rated horrible and others give it for I give it a three. The RV camp is cramped, but OK and the facilities are OK. Location is good if you want to get into the park. If I had to do it again, I probably wouldn’t do it their other locations that are nicer than this facility. But again I just came in for the overnight And went into the park and therefore for what it served its purpo…
