I would say that some of these trail heads off the start are five out of five stars, six stars if I could put it, out of the 16 states I’ve been to all on the western half of the United States. In an umbrella statement overall, I would call Kurt Gowdy 2 to 3 stars. Some of my favorite trail heads that exist in Wyoming are in Curt Gowdy.
High Winds on I-80 encouraged us to take a few nights in this magical Park April 15th and 16th. We had the whole place to our selves, more or less. Lots of camping available. Did a hike around part of the lake/reservoir with our dog and cat. What a wonderful place despite the winds! Day 2 did the hike on Hidden Falls Trail all the way up. This is a must! We were thankful for the RV Electric hook-ups as it dropped to 18 degrees overnight with light snow on our second night. We met a few genuine kind souls fishing and hiking!
