Pros: Large, quiet, and fairly remote. Not particularly hard to access despite being "back country." Pretty darn cool sleeping here under the stars! Cons: No shade (but I was OK with that). But the reason for docking 1 star is that it was pretty darn buggy, at least when I was there in late April. Couldn't really even open my car doors without letting bugs in. That said, I still wouldn't hesitate to camp here again if I make a return trip to Big Bend at some point.

I wasn't expecting anybody to be out there as I sort of was illegal with the shutdown and no ranger around. Old lady ended up being there and initially thought I was encroaching but eventually invited me to show her my telescopes and think she had never seen with the Stars. I think I made her day. The site is incredible for stars
